Sky Pictures Bulgaria is a Bulgarian company with an international presence, specializing in a broad range of unmanned aircraft systems and aviation technologies, professional cinematic filming, advertising and marketing productions, photography, industrial inspections, aerial surveillance, and innovative technological solutions.
Founded by Captain Petar Petrov with the essential contribution of co-founder and Operations Manager Captain Emiliya Nedelcheva, the company brings together longstanding aviation and maritime expertise, international experience in photojournalism and visual media, a creative approach, and advanced technological solutions.
One of our key strengths is combining professional piloting skills with a refined understanding of composition, movement, lighting, and visual storytelling. Our extensive hands-on experience in both manned and unmanned aviation allows us to capture exceptionally smooth, dynamic, and precisely controlled aerial footage that combines cinematic aesthetics with high safety standards.
Our creative and production services encompass advertising campaigns, corporate and brand films, television and film productions, tourism projects, real-estate presentations, industrial advertising, visual documentation of major projects, and specialized content for digital and social media. We undertake independent productions as well as projects in cooperation with advertising agencies, production companies, international organizations, and corporate clients.

An especially important area of Sky Pictures Bulgaria’s work is participation in international initiatives, specialized exercises, and search-and-rescue (SAR) operations. Our operational experience covers the use of unmanned aircraft for locating people, aerial observation, thermographic assessment, and support for rescue teams in maritime areas, mountainous regions, remote terrain, and other challenging environments.
The company maintains close professional cooperation with Bulgaria’s Directorate General Civil Aviation Administration (DG CAA), including through specialized SAREX aviation exercises. These activities require effective coordination between unmanned and manned aviation, compliance with aviation procedures, reliable communication, and precise operational risk management.

Captain Petar Petrov is a professional pilot with extensive international aviation and operational experience, the founder of Sky Pictures Bulgaria, and a specialist in the use of unmanned aircraft systems in complex industrial and operational environments.
His aviation career began with parachuting, professional skydiving, and gliding. He holds a Commercial Pilot Licence for helicopters — CPL(H).
For seven years, he worked as a news helicopter pilot in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. This work provided valuable operational experience in dynamic airspace, including flight coordination, aerial observation, adapting to rapidly changing conditions, and carrying out missions requiring quick decisions, precise aircraft handling, and strong situational awareness.
Alongside his aviation career, he developed an international career in professional photojournalism and visual media. He worked for the global news agencies Reuters, Associated Press, and Agence France-Presse (AFP), including as a chief photographer and coordinator. His professional experience spans Bulgaria, the United States, Russia, and regions of the Middle and Far East, including work in complex and high-risk environments.
He participated in the management and development of Impact Press Group, combining international photojournalism standards with modern video production and visual documentation practices.
As the founder of Sky Pictures Bulgaria, Captain Petrov has guided the company toward applications of unmanned technologies extending far beyond conventional aerial filming.
His expertise includes industrial and maritime drone operations, thermographic inspections, aerial mapping, critical infrastructure surveillance, energy facility monitoring, specialized aviation missions, and operational support for search-and-rescue activities.
He works on projects requiring cooperation with aviation authorities, port administrations, government institutions, industrial operators, and international organizations. He places particular emphasis on operational planning, risk management, flight safety, and the integration of unmanned systems in airspace shared with manned aviation.
An important part of Captain Petrov’s professional work is participation in international search-and-rescue (SAR) initiatives and operations, aerial surveillance, and coordination of specialized aviation activities. His experience in manned and unmanned aviation is particularly valuable in maritime operations, mountainous regions, and hard-to-reach terrain, where safety, sound operational judgment, and timely coordination among participants are critical.
Captain Petrov takes part in specialized SAREX aviation exercises in Bulgaria, involving the DG CAA and other relevant authorities and rescue organizations. A central focus is the integration of unmanned aircraft systems into a shared operational environment with manned aircraft, including helicopters, during coordinated search-and-rescue scenarios.
Drawing on his international experience and professional expertise, Captain Petrov was specially invited to participate in the establishment and development of X-Sky Dynamics — a high-technology company specializing in unmanned systems and innovative aviation solutions, with international operations and a presence in Asia and Europe.
His work with X-Sky Dynamics focuses on technological solutions for industrial applications, automated monitoring systems, specialized sensor integration, operational platforms, and emerging directions in unmanned aviation.
Captain Petrov continues to develop international partnerships and projects that unite practical aviation experience with the possibilities of autonomous systems, software technologies, space-based observation, and intelligent data processing.
CAPTAIN EMILIYA NEDELCHEVA
Co-Founder & Operations Manager | UAV Operations, Flight Planning & Safety Coordination
Captain Emiliya Nedelcheva is a co-founder and a central figure in the operational management of Sky Pictures Bulgaria, with expertise in planning, coordinating, and safely conducting specialized operations involving unmanned aircraft systems.
She is a qualified remote pilot and actively participates in preparing and executing complex missions in industrial, port, maritime, and aviation environments.
Her core responsibilities include preparing operational plans, flight calculations, risk assessments, and documentation needed to coordinate and obtain authorization for flights, including operations in areas subject to specific restrictions and heightened safety requirements.
During operations, she serves as a remote pilot, supporting pilot, and operational communications coordinator. She oversees compliance with established procedures, maintains coordination between participating parties, and helps identify and manage emerging risks in a timely manner.
Captain Nedelcheva participates in organizing and delivering projects involving shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial inspections, energy infrastructure, aerial observation, thermographic surveys, and specialized collection of technical and visual data.
A particularly important part of her work is coordination with aviation authorities, government institutions, port operators, industrial enterprises, and other organizations involved in the safe conduct of flight operations.
Another significant area of Captain Nedelcheva’s operational work is the preparation, planning, and coordination of specialized search-and-rescue (SAR) missions, including challenging conditions at sea, in mountainous areas, and in remote terrain.
She participates in the preparation and conduct of SAREX aviation exercises and in operational cooperation with the DG CAA and the other participating organizations. Her role encompasses flight-operation coordination, preparation of operational documentation, communications management, and support for safe interaction between unmanned and manned aviation.
In addition to her operational responsibilities, she contributes to preparing international projects, the organizational development of the company, cooperation with technology partners, and introducing new applications of unmanned aircraft systems.
Her professional approach is founded on discipline, attention to detail, precise coordination, and consistent application of aviation and operational safety standards.
